Students in this category prepare multiple prose excerpts from a pre-selected book every year. Selections are typically serious in nature. They act not only as the narrator of the story, but embody the characters periodically. As a limited preparation category, students do not know which selection they will perform until 30 minutes beforehand. Additionally, students perform while holding the book in hand, challenging them to utilize both verbal and non-verbal communication.
